Alba Orbital

Founded in 2012, Alba Orbital from Glasgow, Scotland, is the world’s leading PocketQube satellite manufacturer and launch broker. To date, Alba launch has successfully launched 31 PocketQube satellites into orbit (on 5 missions) including the Unicorn-2 platform. Unicorn-2 is the world’s most capable Picosat by specification. 


Alba also offers ground station services via their Albaconnect platform enabling an end-to-end service to newspace users and operators. Albas operates a fleet of nighttime imaging satellites servicing government and commercial clients. Alba now has over 20 customers on 3 continents.

While being founded in Glasgow Scotland, the company now operates entities in both the US and Germany. Alba raised its first round of investment in 2021 with Y Combinator being our first investor. To date we have raised $3.4m via a Seed round.
