Project Description:
Space Scotland is initiating an educational scoping exercise aimed at providing teachers across the country with the knowledge and resources necessary to inspire students' passion for space-related careers.
The successful candidate will seek to utilise Scotland’s vibrant space sector to enhance talent retention and prevent 'brain drain' as young people transition into the workforce. If you have a keen interest in space, education and outreach, coupled with strong communication and organisational skills, we encourage you to apply.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to identify and analyse key educational strategies and initiatives in Scotland, with a specific focus on space-related education. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough market research and analysis to understand the current landscape of space education in Scotland. Additionally, you will explore emerging technologies and trends in education, assessing their potential application to space-related educational initiatives.
Stakeholder engagement is a key aspect of this internship. You will engage with key stakeholders in the Scottish education sector through interviews and meetings. This engagement will help you identify and map potential opportunities to enhance space education in Scotland, including the development of new educational resources and programmes.
Furthermore, you will prioritise sectors, themes, and opportunities for intervention based on their potential impact and alignment with project objectives. As part of your role, you will develop a comprehensive plan outlining strategies for raising awareness and promoting engagement with space education initiatives among teachers in Scotland.
